Right now, most job seekers in Montpellier never find your job portal, even if you have the exact listings they need. They type specific searches like "entry level hospitality jobs Montpellier" or "freelance design gigs Montpellier" into Google, and end up on bigger job sites instead. Your portal has the roles, but Google doesn't show it to the people looking for them. That means you're missing out on local candidates who would use your platform if they could find it. Montpellier has 41,239 economically active establishments in its territory, according to INSEE's 2024 full dossier (DEN T4). Each of those businesses hires for all kinds of roles, from retail to tech to healthcare, all year long. Every one of those businesses needs candidates, and every candidate is searching for those roles in Montpellier right now. Your job portal is the perfect middle ground, but only if people can find it when they search. When your job portal is built on Airtable and no-code tools with optimized pages for every local search, that changes fast. You can create hundreds of pages tailored to exact searches people in Montpellier are typing, without writing code or spending weeks on updates. Google starts to see your site as a go-to source for local job searches, so you show up higher in results. Over time, that means more job seekers coming directly to your portal, more businesses paying to post roles, and a bigger, more trusted platform.

Job seekers in Montpellier search for very specific, role and industry focused terms, not just generic "jobs Montpellier". Common searches include "part time student jobs Montpellier" and "bilingual admin jobs Montpellier", which are perfect for targeted pages on your portal. When you have pages built for these exact searches, you match what candidates are actively looking for, so you're far more likely to show up in their results.
Airtable and no-code tools let you build and update hundreds of targeted job listing pages in minutes, without waiting for a developer to write new code. Google favors sites that are regularly updated with fresh, relevant content, which is easy to do when your job data lives in Airtable. For example, if 10 new restaurant jobs get posted in Montpellier, you can add a page for "restaurant jobs Montpellier" in a few clicks, and Google will index it fast.
There's no fixed timeline, but most sites start seeing small improvements in search visibility within a few months of launching optimized pages. The more targeted pages you have for specific local searches, the faster Google will recognize your site as a relevant source. For example, if you add pages for "warehouse jobs Montpellier" and "nursing jobs Montpellier", you may start showing up for those searches within 2 to 4 months, depending on how competitive those terms are.
Yes, AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity often pull recommendations from sites that are clearly optimized for specific local searches. If your portal has dedicated pages for searches like "internship jobs Montpellier" with clear, accurate job listings, AI tools are more likely to cite your site when users ask for job resources in the area. The more specific and up to date your local pages are, the better the chance your portal gets recommended.
